Patrick’s Day arrests - Celebrations marred by drunkenness

By most accounts, the atmosphere in Dublin for the St Patrick’s Day parade was festive and peaceful during the early part of the day.

The parade itself went off well, attracting an enormous crowd of some 700,000 spectators.

The festival undoubtedly has the potential to become a major international event a kind of Celtic Mardi Gras. This could have an enormous benefits for tourism, not only for Dublin but also for the rest of the country.
