Free TV pledge will have to be honoured

FOLLOWING the furore over the FAI's controversial sale to Sky Television of the rights to broadcast the Republic of Ireland's soccer matches, there appears to be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

But there is a long way to go.

The decision of Sky Television to broadcast the Republic’s home qualifier against Switzerland in October on Sky One has appropriately been welcomed by the Taoiseach as a step in the right direction.
