Minister to be lauded but warned

Minister to be lauded but warned

His intention to extend the currently limited ban is laudable considering the impact it has on health and the consequential financial burden it imposes on the health service.

It makes sense to outlaw smoking where food is being served and consumed, such as in pubs and restaurants, as he intends. His proposed regulations will also broaden the current ban pertaining to public offices and buildings to include trains and workplaces, although dedicated smoking areas will probably be allowed in the latter.
