THE report that shows Dublin is the third most expensive capital city in the EU could have far-reaching implications for Ireland's future as a major industrial location within Europe.

Coming in the wake of a recent report reflecting how expensive this country has become, the latest cost of living survey makes for disturbing reading.

Taking New York as a yardstick based on 100 points, London is the most expensive EU capital with a score of 91, Copenhagen comes second with 69.3, with Dublin third on 67.5, just ahead of Paris.
