Group must not be afraid to tell truth

THE announcement by Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Mary Harney, of a strategy group to draw up a plan for this country’s industrial policy until 2010 should be welcomed.

However, the group selected must have credibility, if the process is to produce anything worthwhile.

Things have changed dramatically since the Culliton Report undertook a similar task in 1992.
