Public left with costly toothache

DOUBTLESS the country’s 1.7 million PRSI payers will breathe a sigh of relief that the long running dispute between the Government and the Irish Dental Association has at last been settled.

But the outcome of the deal struck between dentists and Government will leave the public with a costly toothache, according to the watchdog Consumers’ Association, which claims that members of the profession are now in a position to charge what they wish.

Like it or not, the public will end up paying more for treatment.
