Drugs seizures - No room for complacency on drug issue

The Garda Siochána seized a total of €13 million worth of illicit drugs in three raids in Dublin, Kildare, and Meath last week.

They got €10m worth of cannabis resin in a house in Co Kildare, and €2m worth of cocaine in the Coolock area of Dublin, as well as a further €1m worth of the same drug in Co Meath.

This must be welcomed, but those figures also contain a frightening warning. Instead of winning the war on drugs, these large seizures are also spectacular evidence of just how badly we are actually faring.
