Suicide crisis - Inadequate mental health services

DARK shadows have again been cast across the face of Irish society by the appalling revelation that four people committed suicide in Co Wexford in recent days.

Suicide crisis - Inadequate mental health services

This tragic news is all the more disturbing as it comes in the wake of the heartbreaking deaths of a young mother and her two young children who drowned in the river Slaney last weekend.

Two of the four suicide victims are known to be teenagers, one of them 13 and the other 15 years of age. This multiple tragedy has again exposed the woeful inadequacy of Ireland’s mental health services.
