ANY lingering doubts about the threat posed by militant Islam to Western civilisation have been well and truly dispelled by the London bombings, showing beyond question that society faces a global phenomenon.

Is Ireland’s neutrality a sham?

If the bomb attacks, which have so far claimed the lives of 52 innocent people, represent a wake-up call for Britain, they should also make Ireland alert to a peril which this country must address in a realistic way.

A phenomenon which erupted in 1994, suicide bombing has been compared to a virulent pathological virus affecting a tiny minority of muslims who wage jihad against unbelievers, a so-called Holy War in the name of Allah.
