Life ban should be considered

IT is time to face facts — Ireland is not winning the battle against drink driving.

According to the latest statistics issued on the garda blitz on drinking and driving over the three weeks up to Christmas, only nine fewer offenders have been arrested compared with the same period last year.

It is glaringly obvious that many drivers are not getting the message.
