Delays will add to shock and outrage

It is nothing short of scandalous that the body presumed to be that of 11-year-old Robert Holohan was allowed to remain unexamined overnight.

For eight days, people engaged in one of the most extensive searches in the country’s history and the authorities should certainly have been prepared to have a State pathologist with the necessary forensic team flown to the area to examine the body without delay.

Instead, a long-suffering family has had to endure another night of excruciating uncertainly.
