Child protection - Strict vetting must be put in place

DEMANDS from two of Ireland’s leading children’s organisations for strict vetting of all those working with young people must not go unheeded.

While it is vital to guard against a witch-hunt scenario, information should be recorded about people who do not have a criminal conviction for child abuse but are identified as posing a possible risk.
