Action must be taken on garda report

For almost a year and a half, the Garda Síochána have had a grievous allegation laid against them in relation to the Omagh bombing, the worst outrage in the history of Northern Ireland.

They have been accused of withholding information from their colleagues in Northern Ireland which, it is alleged, might have helped prevent the atrocity.

Such a claim hanging over a police force constituted a cloud of suspicion of such magnitude it demanded to be addressed urgently.
