From simple correspondence to popes mouthing off at their rivals to underpinning a whole style of novel, the epistolary (key for Dracula and Frankenstein), reborn in more recent times as “found fiction”, which can be letters, transcripts, and whatever you’re having yourself, and is fun to write.
