Would-be Seanad candidates eye April election

Although the outcome of the general election has yet to be decided with counts beginning today, another group are now looking to a different election.

Candidates have until next week to declare if they are seeking a nomination to the Seanad ahead of the April election.

President Michael D Higgins’s daughter, Alice Mary Higgins, is among those who have already put their name into hat.
