Room for improvement on social housing policy

The property market may be showing signs of recovery but there is little evidence the Government is taking the implementation of social housing policy seriously, writes Dr Rory Hearne.

PROVIDING solutions to the housing crisis is central to the forthcoming budget.

But the Government needs to be willing to radically transform how the housing market operates and reorientate housing policy to meet the needs of the majority of the population rather than the interests of the property development industry.
