Woman, 60s, arrested in connection with 2008 murder of Andrew Burns in Donegal

A woman in her 60s has been arrested as part of the garda investigation into the murder of Andrew Burns in Co Donegal 18 years ago.
Andrew Burns, 27, received a number of gunshot wounds shortly after 7pm on the evening of Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in Donnyloop, Castlefin.
He was later found on a roadway close to Donnyloop Church. He was pronounced dead shortly before 8pm on the night in question.
It is believed a number of individuals were involved in his murder. To date, one person has been convicted of this murder and is currently serving a life sentence.
On Thursday, gardaí confirmed that a woman in her 60s had been arrested in connection with the investigation into Mr Burns' killing.
She is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at a garda station in the North-Western Region.
A Family Liaison Officer (FLO) continues to support the family of the deceased.
A spokesperson said An Garda Síochána "continues to appeal to anyone with any information to come forward, in particular, the occupant or occupants of a red van that it is believed to have been in the area of Donnyloop, Castlefin, Co Donegal, at around 7pm on the evening of Tuesday, February 12 2008".
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 9167100, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station," the spokesperson said.
"Investigations are ongoing."
