Fine Gael Rottweiler joins Lady Clune on campaign trail

They made a great pair on Main St, the Lady and the Rottweiler. Demure, polite, restrained is the lady. If you want to know how to canvas with grace, watch as she moves up and down a street, through a supermarket and even into a pub at midday.

Never one to appear desperate for a vote or to pile on the plámás, the Lady, Deirdre Clune, quietly asks for a number one and promises to fight for jobs if elected. When she is told in a dark bar there’s no way they’ll vote Fine Gael, she smiles and moves on.

And today she had the Rottweiler, Michael Noonan, with her. Love him or hate him, the Rottweiler sparks the interest of people in the North Cork town of Charleville on this dank Monday morning.
