THE chief executive of IBRC Mike Aynsley has a few mementoes of his homeland decorating the bank’s headquarters in Dublin.

There’s a signed jersey from the inaugural one-day cricket match between Australia and Ireland in Clontarf. There’s also a signed Australian rugby jersey. Tucked away on the cabinet is a framed photo of the 2006 rugby match when Ireland hammered Australia.

“A mischievous present,” says Mr Aynsley. His easy charm has helped him negotiate one of the toughest jobs in Irish banking over the past three years.
