End of the rainbow

THE divides between the rich and poor in South Africa’s so-called Rainbow Nation are too stark, former president Mary Robinson has warned.

A former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mrs Robinson said the visible wealth in parts of the country, coupled with failures to bring about economic equality, have highlighted an underlying race issue which will surface more if not addressed.
