NOT many people know the name Ilich Ramirez Sanchez, but long before Osama bin Laden was ever a name on people’s lips, the Venezuelan was the world’s most wanted terrorist.

The son of a millionaire lawyer, he became one of most feared men in the world, carrying out mercenary style bombings, hijackings and shootings across Europe and the Middle East for over two decades. Known by his family as Ilich, the world knows him as Carlos the Jackal.
