Liao’s head in the clouds over trees

BIG world, or small world? For people like Bill Liao, it’s both.

With a strong Irish connection and roots right now (and a string of Irish public talks in train), the Australian entrepreneur, environment-minded philanthropist and planter of trees by the trillions can shrink the world with his proven expertise and success in social media down to, well, the size of something you’d hold in your palm.

But, when he made his last trip to California earlier this year, his world expanded. It involved buses, ferries from Ireland, trains in England, a container ship across the Atlantic and through the Panama Canal to the Pacific, and then more transport varieties to Long Beach, California.
