Can Harris end overcrowding?

On a typical day in our struggling emergency departments, hundreds will lie on trolleys for hours on end waiting on a bed. 

Lives are put at risk, as sick people walk out, because they cannot put up with the delays in our hospitals and the overcrowding.

They are choosing to gamble with their health rather than endure agonising delays. As much as 50 000 patients a year are walking out of our emergency departments. These include patients who have serious medical conditions. This is the true scale of the crisis now in our A&Es.
