School visit highlights fantastic work of gardaí

On behalf of the children of Blarney National School, we wish to acknowledge and thank Garda O’Dwyer of Blarney Garda Station, and Sgt Harrington and Garda Barry of Anglesey Street Traffic Corps, for visiting our school recently.
School visit highlights fantastic work of gardaí

We were treated to a full demonstration of the vehicles and equipment used by the Traffic Corps and we were given important safety advice on seatbelts, as well as showing us how they catch robbers in stolen cars.

Garda O’Dwyer, Sgt O’Connell, and Sgt O’Donovan also gave us a full tour of the new station in Blarney, as well as showing us all the helmets and equipment.

We have heard so much about An Garda Síochána in the media recently that we felt strongly about the need to highlight the fantastic work undertaken by our Gardaí.

After the demonstration, the Gardaí asked ‘Who would like to be a Garda when they grow up?’ Every child (and even a few of our teachers!) raised their hands.
