Tackle nursing shortage

I’ve spent the last six months in hospital and I am amazed by the care given to me and other patients.

Tackle nursing shortage

Most people are aware that there is a shortage of qualified nurses at this time. One reason for this is due to the time it takes for overseas nurses to be approved by An Bord Altranais/Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.

The time it takes to process an overseas application can take from six to 18 months. There are qualified nurses from Australia, England, India, and the USA who want to work here, but are put off applying because of the time delay. The NMBI should be able to get the job done in less than one month, especially from the countries whose nursing educational standards are second to none.
