South Africans show their solidarity with the Irish

Our good wishes to the people and government of Ireland, on the centenary of the 1916 Rising.

We join with you in remembering the patriots who laid down their lives for the liberation of their country. The selfless solidarity of the Irish people, in the struggle against apartheid, will forever be etched in the annals of South African freedom. In our hour of

need, you opened your hearts, your homes, and your schools to our political exiles. We salute the workers of Dunnes Stores, and other Irish workers who went on strike.
