In the private rental market you also have a shortage of reasonable priced accommodation, apartments for single people and students. The result is that single people are being forced to rent 3-4 bed houses in residential estates.

No doubt, if you took all single workers and students out of the housing market and built reasonable priced and decent-sized apartments for them, it would free up this accommodation for families.
