In spite of the governments claim that the commemorative events it organised for the victims of violence during 1916 would be inclusive, it has not done so

For instance, it will not give any support for a

memorial for the members of the RIC and DMP who were slain in 1916 and in the following years.

Constable James O’Brien was murdered at Dublin Castle. In the following years other such acts occurred - one my mother related to me was of the murder of a RIC man renowned for his care of children.

One day when helping a little child to cross the road he was shot in the stomach and left screaming for a priest as he died.

I believe if John Bruton was still Taoiseach I would not need to submit this letter to you.
