Pre-election promises are an insult to those who suffered austerity

As in the past, the forthcoming general election is no different regarding good news stories of jobs and investment abounding left right and centre. It makes one wonder, why have so many sections of the community had to endure so much hardship over the last five years?
Pre-election promises are an insult to those who suffered austerity

It appears a new dawn has arrived and the government are trying to give the impression that everything is booming again. The politicians’ hope is that a gullible public will not see through this manipulation and re-elect them.

It is a pity we do not have an election at least every two years, as it would ensure our politicians would shower us with good news on an almost continuous basis and we would never again see a bad day.

As in all previous occasions most of these good news stories are just that, stories, in order to camouflage the harsh realities and disastrous social issues lurking under the surface.

Alas, the good news momentum will evaporate more quickly than the recent floods once their getting re-elected has been achieved as the economic storm clouds are gathering around us. Of course, whatever the make up after the election, they will continue to try and convince us that they are fulfilling their promises, even when it means, robbing Peter to pay themselves and their elite cronies, because Paul never gets paid.

The welfare system that pertains in this country is based on taking it from the ‘have nots’ so as to give it to the ‘haves’.
