Just contemplate the cost to society and the economy of legal drugs

Your editorial (November 5) says the present drugs strategy ‘is not working’. The editorial seems to support ‘making it perfectly legal’ to use drugs and for this to be ‘grounded in the real world’.

Two questions must be answered first:

What level of addiction will result from the legalisation and free sale of drugs?

What will be the cost to society, the economy and the exchequer of legal drugs?
