Best known for her role as Mary Kate Danaher in The Quiet Man, the late actress, Maureen O’Hara, was Ireland’s first Hollywood screen legend and was accepted into the Abbey theatre at the age of 14.

But O’Hara was also a publisher and businesswoman, who became the first female president of a commercial airline in the US, following the death of her third husband.

In later years, she chose West Cork as her second home and used to visit Kinsale, where she ate in the Spaniard bar.
