Run out of home on night of Halloween

Halloween is fast approaching and my 80- year-old father will have to go into B&B. I live and work in London, and try to support him as best I can. He is too terrified to stay in his own home, because adults pelted a dozen eggs off his front door on Halloween night, and fire bangers are fired in the direction of his home.

Run out of home on night of Halloween

He rang the gardaí several times: no reply, with the station open a couple of hours a day. Rang the Garda station 12 miles away: nobody to send out. The gardaí say fire bangers are illegal. There were no gardaí to enforce this law.

Halloween is curfew day for my father, and all his elderly neighbours. An elderly man, who was walking to the shop for the paper, had his knee seriously injured with an egg thrown from a passing car. Twelve months on, he is still receiving treatment for his knee.
