Historic Cobh is dirty and dilapidated

Upon leaving our much anticipated visit to Cobh, Co Cork we left disappointed, saddened and appalled. 

The dilapidated condition of some vacant commercial units combined with the endless tide of rubbish on the streets our experience was nothing short of nauseating.

Where is the community pride in this architectural and historical gem of an Irish town?
