Irish party politics are undemocratic

Have we not learned that party politics do not work? They are undemocratic, and have been corrupted beyond repair, are incompetent, secretive, self-serving, divisive, unfocused, unprincipled, uncaring and incapable of serving the common good. If we continue with this form of governance, we might as well tear up the Constitution and erase the word ‘democracy’. We need a national assembly of talented, non-party individuals, sworn in to get us out of a vicious cycle of debt on which we are paying billions of euro in interest payments every year. We need to exhume our Constitution as a guide to democratic governance and establish a dedicated constitutional court to deal with breaches of it.
