Build the country up by investing €1bn in a two-division soccer league

What about the Government handing over €1bn for the creation of 1,000 jobs in a 36-club (two divisions of 18), unified, full-time Irish league.

This magnificent project would necessitate the building of, perhaps, 28 new stadia, with academies, across the island, a task that might be undertaken by a newly established, 20,000-strong, national construction unit.

We also want planning for the stadia and academy to be fast-tracked.
