Marriage amendment opponents must end dishonest fear mongering

If the Iona Institute and fellow-travellers admitted they are against the passing of the pending amendment to the Constitution because their Church opposes it, I would have more respect for them. The same folk opposed civil (but not Church) divorce — claiming it would create a deluge, whereas in truth we have the lowest divorce rate in Europe.

And now it’s the rights of children to be brought up by their natural father and mother that they are worked up about.

What hypocrisy.
