Famine comedy will bomb if ever produced

Regarding the proposed comedy on the Famine (‘Can the famine ever be funny?’, Irish Examiner letters, January 13), I say let them produce it and watch them make fools of themselves.

I watched similar style comedy sketches on a Toronto channel about 20 years ago and it was pathetic, more so-called funny people laughing at their own jokes. Thank goodness this ‘black comedy’ show died a quick death, not from protests, but simply because it was not funny.
