Threesomes, bosoms at Cork Opera House

In recent days the Opera House hosted the Ellen Kent Opera Company’s production of Rigoletto. As an opera fan I was a little surprised that the Opera House was not full.

Within minutes, I could see why. Such a gratuitous display of bosoms and nudity added nothing to the performance, distracting from the rest of the production which I enjoyed thoroughly.

The first act, because of the on-going threesome at the back of the stage between the tenor and two topless women of the court, was uncomfortable, particularly for a somewhat senior audience looking forward to an evening of culture.
