GAA should hand over receipts to match goers

I attended Páirc Uí Caoimh for the Cork Senior Football Championship final and having paid for my wife and I, I was shocked not to receive any form of receipt.

GAA should hand over receipts to match goers

Surely, in this day and age, this is not right. To his left were a bundle of €50/€20 notes and the obvious question here is - where is the accountability? Is the GAA relying on the honesty of the individuals on the turnstiles? While I realise that the gate clicks for each entry, how does the GAA differentiate between a full paying entry €20, a concession €10 or a child who may go in for free?

I would add that having discussed the matter with those sitting to the left and right of us on the stand, they were equally annoyed at not receiving a receipt for their money. Has this been cleared with the Consumer Protection Association? Has the GAA any obligation to their members and guests for monies received from them?

I shall be obliged if you will give my complaint your consideration and respond, as I may escalate the matter further for a satisfactory explanation. My wife’s family are very involved in local GAA . The debonair attitude beggars belief.
