EPA must face questions about Cork recycling site

Demonstrations by local residents living near the Country Clean recycling plant in Churchfield call into question the effectiveness of the planning department of Cork City Council and also the Environment Protection Agency.

EPA must face questions about Cork recycling site

How could they grant a licence for these recycling operations in buildings that were clearly not designed for the purpose?

I regularly pass close to the recycling facility of Wiser Recycling on Centre Park Road and the obnoxious smell is obvious to anyone who comes within 100m of the site. I feel sorry for people living and working nearby who have to endure it 24 hours a day. This facility is housed in a building that was built by Dunlops back in the ‘60s, at a time when building standards were a lot less stringent than they are today.
