Oil report is fool’s gold

What kind of government spends public money to commission a firm of ‘consultants’ to report on an issue of national importance?

That same report has a disclaimer that the consultants cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, nor fairness of their opinions; and does not accept liability for any party’s reliance upon those opinions (ie, an Irish government).

The report was commissioned by the Government, presumably on behalf of the people, to consider the fitness for purpose of the licensing agreements with the oil exploration companies.
