Energy claims are hot air

I refer to your article of April 15, which quoted MEP Green Party candidate, Grace O’Sullivan, as claiming wind energy can replace fossil fuel.

Electricity is a highly technical subject. Anyone making claims about it should state their qualifications. My claim is in line with the ESB, Dutch engineer Fred Udo, Dutch scientists Dr Kees Le Pair, Professor Gordan Hughes, of Edinburgh University, Deter Helm, of Oxford University, and the Irish Academy of Engineers. I claim that it is impossible to power our national grid using intermittent wind energy and any attempt to try is a waste of money. Wind energy is failing to deliver in Germany and Holland, where they were forced to open 20 large, coal-powered stations with rising C02 emissions.
