Political complacency

I endorse John Healy’s excellent letter (Dec 12). Every point was well-made.

We must dislodge the complacency embedded in the Irish psyche and change our political system for the betterment of the people. However it is achieved, we must create an election process that enables the people to identify candidates of the calibre of Michael O’Leary and Shane Ross, who will have the business sense and political courage to truly represent the people and ensure a fair deal for all citizens.
