No speed checks on busy roads

Just when are the gardaí and Cork County Council going to get to grips with the gross and excessive speeds on the Ballinrea Road (L2464)?

No speed checks on busy roads

Day in, day out, weekends especially, it is incessant, never ending. Why is this the case? Simple — no enforcement of speed limits by gardaí with camera control. It would seem that once the private mobile camera vans came into being, the gardaí and county councils abdicated complete responsibility to this company.

No allowance is made for urban and suburban areas, ie 50 kmph and 60 kmph limit areas. Especially in Carrigaline. Around Carrigaline there is inadequate signage to remind motorists of their responsibility to keep within the limits, especially on the Ballinrea Road, Ballea Road, Cork Road, Crosshaven Road and Kilmoney Road.
