Right off track

Recently (Saturday, Oct 26), my wife and I — a pair of 70-plus-year-olds from the country, having visited a few days with friends, got on the Dart at Glasthule with a view to getting to Heuston Station via Connolly and Luas.

Right off track

The first three trains were terminating at Pearse St so, we took the first, hoping to find some form of connection. There were no announcements on the train about anything — as we walked along the platform at Pearse, there were still quite a few people sitting on the train.

Arriving in Pearse, we sought information only to be told line works meant no trains to Connolly (bank holiday weekend with some important matches north & south of the Liffey?). Was there a replacement bus? Not to Connolly.! How do we get there? It’s only a 10 minute walk.! Are there schedule buses from here to either Connolly or Heuston? I don’t know. We went to the ticket barrier, same level of knowledge.
