Unhealthy service

Listening to our Minister for Health recently, I was reminded of that little boy we all knew at school ‘Please, sir, it wasn’t me sir, it was Murphy’.

Do we need schoolboy mentalities in our Government? On a more serious note, in the HSE we need nurses and doctors, but do we really need management?

Remember the old, very efficient system? One good matron with a secretary, good ward sisters, practical nurses; where are they all gone? Into management and leave the care to unqualified carers and a load of desk jockeys.
