Keep the Upper House

So the stage is set, now that Taoiseach Enda Kenny is pushing ahead with an October referendum to abolish the Seanad.

If successful in his quest, I believe it will be a great loss to our democracy.

Sure, the Seanad needs reform, but complete abolition? The Government seems to have put little thought into exploring how the Upper House could be restructured and modernised. As it stands the Seanad is the only check we have on the Government, albeit with limited powers.
