City shops miss out as visitor opts for suburbs
I went to park my car in Cornmarket Street where there were plenty of spaces, and was just getting out of my car when a man selling Christmas trees nearby informed me that the council had just given out parking tickets to about ten cars either side of me.
He told me if I parked there they would be back again and I would definitely be issued with a ticket.
I just said to myself ‘to hell with Cork’, and got back into my car and headed for one of the shopping centres on the outskirts of town where I was able to complete all my shopping without fear of coming back to my car and having to pay a huge fine to Cork City Council.
I feel so sorry for the shops in Cork who are losing out on business. I would have loved to give my business to the shops in Cork. There must be many people who feel exactly like me.
