All involved with CAT club show, take a bow

Bravo to the team involved with the improvised Halloween Murder Mystery currently running at the Cork Arts Theatre.

All involved with CAT club show, take a bow

I arrived intrigued with two friends, all of us first timers to such an event. Prior to the performance we were informed as to the rules of this Murder Mystery; we each received a slip of paper on which we were to submit our suggestions in relation to the plot, characters, props, etc. and a card to cast our vote as to who the murderer and victim were to be. These slips were then placed in a pumpkin pot on stage and intermittently retrieved and referred to throughout the show.

Suggestions varied from the vicar’s appetite for silverware to the lord’s time travel ability. This cast, a talented group, successfully enacted all these quirky suggestions which demanded the butler to spontaneously burst into a rendition of Staying Alive by The Bee Gees. We, the audience, were completely immersed in this bizarre and wacky world and enjoyed every minute of it as laughter precipitated throughout the performance.
