Daft economic policies

During the so-called ‘Celtic Tiger’ years, we had a breed of economists and spokespersons ranging from the government, financial institutions and property websites who appeared to be working in tandem, or at least expressed the same message in stoking the fire that helped to destroy this country.

Daft economic policies

They largely fooled people, naïve enough to fall for their daft version of economics regarding getting on the property ladder that has resulted in crucifying them for the rest of their lives.

It is so ironic that we now have a new breed of economists and spokespersons from the same groups who are pushing the daft idea that a property tax is justified in order to further crucify the very people those aforementioned groups have already been responsible for crucifying.

They are as removed from reality and the consequences of their stance as their predecessors.

It is extra ironic that one of those property websites has a name that personifies what went on and what their spokespersons are trying to push now. A totally daft idea in both instances, the name is so apt.
